The snap area prompt can be customized to your liking. I created a specific snap area for OmniFocus because the default 50% snap area is too small to display all the information that I need. Besides being able to place windows exactly where I want them with a simple keyboard shortcut (or Drag Areas which I don't use), this app has a couple other features that are actually the most valuable to me: moving and resizing windows by simply holding modifyer key(s) and placing the cursor over any part of the window, whether the window is active or not. (And if I were to use Snap Areas, I can customize the look of them which is nice.) This app is incredibly useful for me for both software development and day-to-day use. Once you've set it up, it feels like it's just native OS behavior. For my use, BetterSnapTool is invisible and just works in the background to perform actions when I use certain modifyer keys and keyboard shortcuts. ![]() ![]() Of course I could be wrong, but the game didn't offer anything to show me otherwise. I played until after the first boss fight and had had enough of the gameplay because it felt like the path ahead was predictable and monotonous, as well as feeling like I've already experienced the majority of what the game has to offer. I found it very arduous that the game basically lays its progression out before you early on, in that I could see three elongated puzzles and boss fights ahead. From what I played, the rest of the game is similarly protracted. Shooting the crystals to refill the energy bar can make for skilled traversal, but this fundamental mechanic became very tiring for me and repetitive to the extreme. The gameplay also leaves a nice first impression but irritated me the longer I played. When boss battles commence the graphics show their true colours and this is quite a sight but also falls into being a bit one-dimensional once you see the patterns and style. My qualm with these graphics is that I don't think they do the game enough justice, especially in the opening hours where everything is dark and morose. Generally nothing overly complex, but smooth and fluid graphics that are similar to cell-shading make for a pleasant first impression. As mentioned, the graphics of The Pathless immediately drew my thoughts back to Journey. So why am I lamenting rather than lauding its achievements? I'll explain below. The Pathless has received near-universal critical acclaim and it's not hard to see why from the premise it comes from an indie-darling The Pathless has received near-universal critical acclaim and it's not hard to see why from the premise it comes from an indie-darling perspective, touting similar graphics and game mechanics to highly regarded titles such as Journey, Gris and Abzu. ![]() But with all of that said, it's a good game, with the spark of greatness flickering inside. And, of course, a final level that didn't feel so disappointingly empty would have been nice. On top of that, each of the bosses is functionally the same. Most of the game is thrillingly "pathless" but the boss battles are scripted to hell, and as unsatisfying as the core game is satisfying. Really, the thing this game needed were boss battles which actually incorporated the core gameplay. The final levels are really thin on content, and the final encounter with the boss is beyond unsatisfying. I'd have gotten past it without much issue, but the game loses a lot of steam in its final hours. Compared to the core gameplay, the boss battles and scripted encounters are so bad that they feel like parts of a different game. Boss encounters and battles feel very plain, kinda wonky, and get repetitive almost immediately. Where the game comes up short (sometimes VERY short) is in its combat and endgame content. ![]() Think Journey meets Shadow of the Colossus. ![]() Thus, the areas outside the overlap area are not likely to be properly aligned. For example, if your target data only occupies one-quarter of the area of your raster dataset, the points you could use to align the raster dataset would be confined to that area of overlap. Generally, the greater the overlap between the raster dataset and target data, the better the alignment results, because you'll have more widely spaced points with which to georeference the raster dataset. Typically, having at least one link near each corner of the raster dataset and a few throughout the interior produces the best results. If possible, you should spread the links over the entire raster dataset rather than concentrating them in one area. However, adding more links will not necessarily yield a better registration. The number of links you need to create depends on the complexity of the transformation you plan to use to transform the raster dataset to map coordinates. The associated link is represented by the blue line joining the control points. The example below shows a from control point (yellow cross) placed on the vector target data at a street crossing and the associated control point (green cross) placed on the raster dataset. The connection between one control point on the raster dataset (the from point) and the corresponding control point on the aligned target data (the to point) is a link. The control points are used to build a polynomial transformation that will shift the raster dataset from its existing location to the spatially correct location. Many different types of features can be used as identifiable locations, such as road intersections, the mouth of a stream, rock outcrops, the end of a jetty of land, the corner of an established field, street corners, or the intersection of two hedgerows. ![]() Control points are locations that can be accurately identified on the raster dataset and in real-world coordinates. The process involves identifying a series of ground control points-known x,y coordinates-that link locations on the raster dataset with locations in the spatially referenced data (target data). Generally, you will georeference your raster data using existing spatial data (target data)-such as georeferenced rasters or a vector feature class-that resides in the desired map coordinate system. ![]() Save the georeferencing information when you're satisfied with the alignment. The Auto Registration tool can help you automatically create links. Add links that connect known raster dataset positions to known positions in map coordinates. The layers must either be in the same coordinate system as the data frame or have no spatial reference defined. The Georeferencing toolbar layer list will display raster layers, image service layers, and CAD layers as valid data types. In ArcMap, add the raster that you want to align with your projected data.In general, there are three steps for georeferencing a raster: The Georeferencing toolbar allows you to georeference raster datasets, raster layers (which may have raster functions), image services, and raster products. Georeferencing raster data allows it to be viewed, queried, and analyzed with other geographic data. When you georeference your raster data, you define its location using map coordinates and assign the coordinate system of the data frame. A map coordinate system is defined using a map projection (a method by which the curved surface of the earth is portrayed on a flat surface). Thus, to use some raster datasets in conjunction with your other spatial data, you may need to align or georeference them to a map coordinate system. With aerial photography and satellite imagery, sometimes the location information delivered with the imagery is inadequate, and the data does not align properly with other data you have. ![]() Scanned map datasets don't normally contain spatial reference information (either embedded in the file or as a separate file).
